Bengaluru Gripped by Dengue Outbreak -Welfare verses Growth

God created this beautiful earth, but man made it dirty by his constant ill-effects. India is no exception to this. People  clean their own homes but never hesitate to make it's surrounding dirty . As the eminent British author Ivor Thomas has correctly observed, "The prime fact of human nature which the wise statesman must take into account is that men will exert themselves for their own benefit, or for that of their families, regarded as an extension of themselves as they will exert themselves for no one else, in particular men are not prepared to work for their state or any other collectivity as they will work for themselves  or for their families. Perhaps this is a defect in human nature, but it is a fact, and the statesman ignore it at his peril."

All major cities have become polluted in India. Bengaluru is no exception to this. Bengaluru-the Silicon valley has become hub for the new era MNCs.It is once said that the sun never set on the British Empire. Today the sun does set on the British Empire, but not on the shores of global corporate empires. Urbanization and industrialization has increased the scope of growth .This growth has exerted pressure on the environment. The city is burning under the weight of pollution. Dengue spreads here due to stagnant water, poor sanitation and waste management, urban overcrowding. Dengue outbreaks in Bengaluru spike during the monsoon .This was declared an epidemic in Karnataka recently. This is not real growth. Real Development =Growth + Welfare

Bengaluru has witnessed a major dengue outbreak. Hospitals were overpopulated. Once upon a time the city was erupting with chaos, in turmoil, like a volcano. People were in a state of panic. There were many deaths. This is an annual occurrence. The government needs to take many steps for the welfare of the people. Reservoir water needs to be refreshed. The city needs better waste management practices including disposal of coconut shell and other things.

Is there a safe place where we can go and live without this fear. So an increasing number of people are shifting away from the crowed places to places of natural beauty.A home is a safe haven in the nature. There is a serine tranquility in nature. It is our responsibility to save it.

Care for the city and care for the globe -A Collective Consciousness
