"Some rise by sin and some by virtue fall"...as William Shakespeare says, wonder why it is so. This is because of the vicious cycle of karma/deeds and their consequences. Once a disciple of lord Buddha asked Buddha that yesterday night I woke up and saw all the members in his family were sleeping and the next morning they all woke up. He was restless and did not make out. Why is this journey for? Each night we sleep and next morning we wake up.What is the destination? Buddha replied this is due to the result of expectations. That is the reason we wake up each morning to fulfill our quench of our expectations. To meet this need we have to wake up every morning. This is what the journey is for.In the same logic,we are trapped by the vicious cycle of birth and death. When all our desires have been fulfilled we get salvation. The journey ends at that point of time which breaks the shakles of endless life.Karma is the main determinant of this journey.Good karma provides good result and bad karma provides bad results. But as we are trapped by endless lives. The fruitification of the result of our karma may take two or three lifetimes.
The musk deer roams around here and there. But he never realizes that it comes from its own musk grand.Similarly we never realize that our good or bad happens to us due to our good or bad deeds.
Energy cannot be destroyed completely. It can be transferred from one form to other. In the same manner karma cannot be destroyed completely. It is meant to transfer from one form to other. When we completely surrender to the supreme consciousness then the law of karma is altered by the law of grace. That is the grace of God or The grace of Guru.
