Deeds of Life!

The day was brilliant. In my spacious rectangular-shaped hall, on the sofa, I was enjoying my TV. I was changing the channels, all of a sudden, I came across an old Indian Hindi movie, I had never seen before. I thought to watch it. The actress in the movie had a spellbinding beauty . She was Madhubala. She lived a short life. She was 36 years old at the time of her death. She was very talented. Otherwise she had definitely been the undefeated Diva of the glamorous contemporary Bollywood.

From the physical beauty that symbolizes the sensuous world, I feel something metaphysical, as if, "a man's life is not about how much time he is living in years, months, days and moments, rather it is governed by his deeds or course of action. This is the measuring rod of a man's life". Has anybody ever tried to discover why Alexander the great was named so? Yes, he also lived a short life and died when he was 32 years old. Otherwise, he had been the greatest conqueror of the cosmos. Before his death he said to his fellow-men to put his both hands on each side, easily visible to everybody to make them know that he cannot hold a penny with him to the hereafter. That's why his imperialism has a command over a brain to mind till touches a heart and ultimately trickles down to the soul. I pondered that I studied about the hero in my school curriculum.

By the flash back effect, I became nostalgic. During my school-days, I remembered that once my grandfather told me about a young girl who was 13, when the Nazis killed the girl along with her family in the holocaust occurred in the concentration camp. She was Anne Frank of Holland who died in that genocide, when Germany occupied Holland, otherwise had been the world's bestselling writers. Her diary was a keep-sake by her father. Posthumously "its" publication created a revolution in the field of literature. Many never believed that this writing was of a small girl of 13.After lots of research it was proved that 'The Diary of a young girl' belongs to Anne Frank. What she had written that was mesmerizing? This subsequent reflection definitely comes to a rational mind. Yes, indeed, i.e., as she thinks despite anything a man is good at heart. She believes that humans are a part of the benevolent God. Being the conduct of evils externally, still a good side is implicitly felt. I felt that as a drop of water from the ocean is water and a sparkle from the great fire is still fire, similarly humans despite all evils, bears inwardly a part and parcel of God. Really it is unbelievable to correlate this writing with a girl of thirteen. But this is a fact.
The life of such persons is as the glorious sun. Within their short life span, have lighted the world, as the golden sun that shines from dawn to dusk.

The Paradisaical Cambridge

At every night,in an absolute solitude, the city of Cambridge as if connects itself to the cosmos to gain the wisdom and in the day-time it produces a resurrection of lots of golden-sun like particles and this resurgence percolated all-around to spread the ray of education.A man of Cambridge is a man.His radiation has eternally lit the world .His redolence  always  casts an aromatic spell everywhere to make the civilization prosperous.   Whoever stands in-front of the iconic educational hub of the world understands very well the value of education and becomes spontaneously intolerant to ignorance.Punting in the Cam river shows the arts, architecture, sculpture of the world famous Cambridge which automatically outputs a buoyant-spirit for appreciating the pride of mankind,a benchmark among universities.
It is the third oldest surviving university in the world. In 1209,the opening steps for the framework of the university was a resultant of a consequence of the dispute of some scholars and the townsfolk of the Oxford university. The official blueprint commence in the year 1231 by a charter from the King Henry III of England and in 1233 Pope Gregory IX gave the right,i.e, the graduates from Cambridge to teach everywhere in Christendom .It is the part and parcel of the 'golden triangle' of the English Universities.Oxford and Cambridge are jointly called Oxbridge. Here the Chancellor's office is ceremonial and the Vice-Chancellor is the principal administrative head of the organization.  This is a collegiate university consisting of 31 colleges and six academics schools. The colleges are as follows:
1.King's College8.Trinity Hall16.Sidney Sussex College24.Darwin College
2.Trinity College9.Corpus Christi College17.Downing College25.Wolfson College
3.St John's College10.Queens' College18.Girton College26.Clare Hall
11.St Catharine's College19.Newnham College27.Robinson College
4.Peterhouse12.Jesus College20.Selwyn College28.Lucy Cavendish College
5.Clare College13.Christ's College21.Fitzwilliam College29.St Edmund's College
6.Pembroke College14.Magdalene College22.Churchill College30.Hughes Hall
7.Gonville & Caius College15.Emmanuel College23.New Hall31.Homerton College
Initially these colleges were male-oriented.Finally it understood very well that if you educate a man ,you educate a person, but if you educate a woman, you educate a family. In the year 2004-05 the male to female ratio was 52% to 48%. In these colleges, once the examination of mathematics was mandatory but later it was vehemently criticized. The pedagogical system of this institution was supervision here,on the contrary it was called tutorial in the Oxford. There are 114 libraries in the university. It's publishing arm,the Cambridge  Printing Press  is the oldest and the second largest press in the world.According to a statistical estimation it is the wealthiest university in the European economy. It has a sustainability of being in the list the first few top colleges in the global arena.

There was not a very good terms and conditions between the townsfolk and the students. But now-a-days the things have changed completely as the university itself has become a resource of employment. The term town and gown is used to differentiate the townsfolk from the students by means of  their uniforms.
The history of Cambridge is a documentary of many signifying scientists, mathematicians such as Francis Bacon,Sir Isaac Newton,Lord Kelvin,Charles Darwin,Charles Babbage and many more. The great economists such as Milton Friedman,John Maynard Keynes,Amartya Sen etc belong to this university, who have  shown the shining path  to the human race by their glittery torches. All branches of knowledge has many great pioneers. Some of them are definitely related to this university. These names symbolizes  only a drop of water out of the great knowledge-ocean of Cambridge. The list is outstanding and never-ending.The person is really glorified if  he is a Cambridge man. An University should be a place of light,of liberty,of learning. The town has an angelic beauty and it's  place of knowledge has a  celestial bliss. Once the greatest diplomat or otherwise known as the Indian Machiavelli ,Chankya told,'books  are as useless for a stupid person as a mirror is useless for a blind man'.Similarly the importance of Cambridge will only be understood by a pragmatic person.

Unpredictability:The British Climate

In the UK,during the peak winter seems  as if beauty has surpassed the zenith. It's the reality not a myth. When snow falls it resembles like an Christian bride roams shattering her white-transparent veil with diamonds knotted within. After the snowfall,in the dawn ,it resembles to be an ivory wedding gown, the queen has wrapped on her.  I landed in the UK,during the peak winter.Coming from India which is partially tropical,it made me feel as if somebody has put me inside a refrigerator. But houses are warmer due to the room heaters which made me  survive. Due to this type of climatic condition  the houses have sloping roofs,so that snow will trickle down to the surface easily.People use overcoats,caps,gloves,socks,shoes,legwarmers,hand-warmers to protect themselves during winter.
Here winter overshadows the summer. So here summer is for a short-span of time.In the true sense of the term, when the English summer approaches, the sun is beautified through its glorious rays. The wave of joy is spitted everywhere,as if man has discovered the oasis in the dessert .Is he getting a 'kiss of life'?Now common people become the free bird. They compel others to be mesmerized  with the brilliance of colors and designs of their clothes.Their freedom gives tranquility to their soul .Here mass looks like models.
This sunny summer is unpredictable.Over-all  weather is unpredictable. At any point of time it might be showering ,drizzling.Never it rains cats-and dogs. Weather continuously changes even in a day.
This unpredictability of climate is due to the earth's rotation and UK's location in the global context. The earth rotates with its equator whizzing around 1700 km per hr.The UK lies within the broad-outline of latitudes  49° to  61° N and longitudes and  9° W to  2° E.The English channel separates the island from the Atlantic ocean is very often known as the 'arm of the Atlantic ocean'.
The changeability of the British weather is the consequence of  the war between two types of air.The cold polar air and the warm tropical air collides and tries to push each other. As the island comes under the dual climatic system and the weather is spontaneously structured like this,i.e change is the only constant. It is like the vicious circle. That's why the British winter is sometimes cold and dry or might be mild and wet.On the other hand the English summer is very rarely observed with wildness and serenity simultaneously. It is very often accompanied by mild showers and cloudiness.Summer recklessly changes here .It is quite momentary. When the galvanized sun comes into picture soul is hilarious with its tranquility.

Odisha_Poet Benudhar Raut

Civilization starts when the cultures of groups of people have become highly developed. History started when man began to read and write.During the pre-historical period lots of poetries are believed to have been orally recited .The Vedas (1700-1200 BC) are the examples when poetry was composed, memorized, and by means of oral transmission was gifted to the off-spring.It is justified to say that poet is born, not made.

The 18th century English poet Alexander Pope,in his childhood days was never concentrating on, doing mathematics. He loved to compose poetry. His father once locked him inside a room and had commanded him to do mathematics. After he comes to check whether his son has done homework or not ,he found no results. So he was so angry at that subsequent moment that he was about to beat him.The kid was very nervous and said 'Papa papa pity take,no more shall I verses make'.O My God.The father was so surprised to notice the passion of his son that he was very glad and never scolded him again.

Among the Indian poets,  Benudhar Raut's idea and poetic creations are saved for immortality. He has created a milestone in Oriya Literature. He has authored PINGALARA SURYA,EKA TARA DUI TARA and BHINNA DARPANA. In his childhood days, once the school teacher asked the students to write their perception after reading Wordsworth's 'Daffodils'.Everybody wrote in the usual manner..But what has really surprised the class teacher was the newness in poet Raut's  piece of writing.
He had written analytically what Wordsworth has written beatifying the golden daffodils. It's beauty is really mesmerizing.A thing of beauty is a joy for ever.On the other hand in his concluding lines,he portrayed his  perception on Robert Herrick's 'To Daffodils',that the beauty of daffodils has a short lived reign. It is very beautiful but it is a matter of sorrow that it has a very short life span.It is perishable.
The extra-ordinary view was rare and unique. The teacher was extremely glad and said he would be well known in the world of poetry someday. His poetry the Pingalara Surya from his book, naming the same, is awesome and ecstatic.
It is very true that poetry is the spontaneous overflow of the powerful feelings;it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility.Poets are the leader of the society.True revolution starts through their brilliant pens. That's why pens are mightier than swords.

Life

The  mythology depicts lots of beautiful stories related to gods, humans, and demons. If it will be noticed minutely then by means of a subsequent reflection it will be noticed that gods are also punished if they do bad deeds.Still we are humans. It has been believed in the Greek Mythology that, once humans were the happiest creature. They were not aware of any form of sorrows. To become as powerful as the gods they stole fire from them.Gods punished the humans ,by their Machiavellian intelligence by giving a wonderful keep-sake,Pandora's Box.The box was full of all worldly sorrows which destroyed all  happiness of humans. They became weak.It would have been  so painful for the human race to exist,if they had not provided  the enlightened hope angel within it to make them to survive.
In the  Bhagavad Gita ,it has been beautifully illustrated that  sorrows  are a part and parcel of our life.It is said that due to the sorrows we abandon all pride and vanity. Happiness is momentary and it is different from the eternal bliss-salvation.To be indifferent to the personal adversities is like the drop of water which stays on the lotus leaf, still it is not there. It is very difficult but not impossible. It helps to  live life peacefully.
Once a disciple of Buddha asked the lord that he was sleeping and at the mid of the night he became restless that why everybody is sleeping like this.Lots of question came to his mind.Buddha reply very calmly that man aspires of hopes and expectations. He wakes every morning to deal with all worldly expectations.Expectations lead to the vicious circle which generates all worldly sorrows in our life. That's why   he gives birth again and again until these hopes are accomplished and when there is no expectations he attains the salvation .But every body cannot become Buddha and abandon the worldly matters. But the famous eight fold path are the ways to do good deeds and to live a blissful life.
The Russian writer Leo Tolstoy in his world famous tale "what men live by" tries to find out the answer. How he lives with this  hellish and painful worldly materialism ? To love is the prime law of living a life without which life is like a null set.
Life is exactly like a land of sand or a barren land. When we desire for water ,sometimes from a particular distance we speculate that we get it.But very often we get mirages. But still we hope for oasis. This is life.

Jesus Christ told that the evil persons do evils because of their wrong desire, hope and intention. But they are not aware that these are bad deeds.
Live is precious.Human live is rare and divinely-gifted. An Individual should develop his perception so that it trickles down to the grass-root label which will generate such lawful hopes, expectations, desires, wants, ambitions that are not harmful for the mankind.
